Neterra opens second data centre in Sofia, Bulgaria

Neterra has opened Sofia Data Center 2 (SDC 2), its second facility in the capital of Bulgaria.

The facility is spread across 1,400 sqm and over four levels, with 2 MW of capacity. According to Neterra, SDC 2 also features the latest generation of energy efficient air conditioning systems.

The new site is adjacent to the company’s first data centre in Sofia, SDC 1, both of which are designed to Tier III standards.

“Neterra’s new data centre is an important link in the critical infrastructure of Bulgaria and Southeast Europe. This is one of the places where the networks of Western telecom operators connect to the Middle East and Asia. Neterra’s importance in this chain of security has always been highly valued,” said Neven Dilkov, Neterra’s founder and CEO.

The new site joins Neterra’s other Bulgarian data centres located in Stolnik and Ruse.
