Acronis and Formula One host over a hundred guests at Silverstone GP

Acronis hosted over one hundred guests at Silverstone racing weekend, a mix of customers, partners and media, with the help of its two Formula One partners; Rokit Williams and Sport Pesa Racing Point.

During the three days of the event, Acronis presented on the risk of not having the right cyber protection and the increase in cyber-attacks. For instance, for Rokit Williams, Acronis protects no less than 650 engineering workstations, over 1,000 Microsoft Office 365 mailboxes and 100s of TB of data.

Acronis, as part of the agreement with its Formula One team partners, delivers innovative cyber protection solutions, including backup, disaster recovery, software-defined storage, and file sync and share.

Formula One is one of the world’s most technologically advanced sports. Every grand prix weekend, Formula One teams capture hundreds of gigabytes of telemetry data, and produce terabytes of engineering and test data at the factory.

Data analysis fuels innovation and technological development. The ability to interpret the data and make informed decisions is what can help the team and totally change a race’s outcome.

Acronis also integrates a unique artificial intelligence-based active ransomware protection technology into Acronis Backup. As new ransomware strains increasingly target backup files, Acronis’ solution protects backups while adding another level of defence to the entire system.

“Losing data for Formula One teams has an impact on the results similar to having a car stopped on a track during the race,” said Ronan McCurtin, VP Northern Europe at Acronis.

Acronis’ products are already used by the top automotive and manufacturing companies worldwide. Racing teams and corporations choose Acronis solutions for the performance and reliability required in high-pressure manufacturing environments.
