CyrusOne has begun construction on a data centre in Alcobendas, Madrid.
The new data centre will comprise 18 MW of total capacity across 6,000 sqm of space, after CyrusOne acquired the freehold purchase of the five-acre site in 2021.
According to CyrusOne, the facility will utilise 100% renewable energy, and generate around 100 KW on-site through roof mounted solar PV panels.

It is the right time to be present and on the ground in this key location, offering our customers capacity and choice across the continent.”
Itercon will be heading up the construction, general contracting and structural elements of the project, alongside partners including Quark, in charge of design and the construction management; JLL, leading on the project management; Turner & Townsend, advising on cost and management; and Q Safety, advising on health and safety.
