NTT Global Data Centers has unveiled its seventh London data centre site, located in Hemel Hempstead.
The facility, called Hemel Hempstead 4, was opened in December 2021. Providing half its full capacity in phase 1, it will add a further 9,600sqm of space and 24MW IT load when complete.
NTT is also planning to expand capacity at its Dagenham site, London 1, which was opened in 2020. Its London data centres currently provide more than 53MW capacity, with NTT’s future investment plans potentially increasing this to over 120MW.
According to the company, Hemel Hempstead 4 will also be powered by 100% renewable energy and has been designed for low water usage (WUE).
Masaaki Moribayashi, President and Board Director at NTT, said, “As the third-largest data centre provider in the world, NTT continues to significantly accelerate our investment into the London and UK market as a key global location. This investment provides scalable data centre and connectivity infrastructure for our clients’ digital transformation needs.”
