NGD recognised for excellence in safeguarding customer data

Companies keeping your data safe seems like a rare commodity these days, but Next Generation Data, a hyperscale data centre operator based in Wales, has been awarded latest BS 10012:2017 certification.

NGD has been certified by BSI (British Standards Institution) to a new standard of excellence in data protection, privacy and security.

Developed in accordance with EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), BS 10012: 2017 certification reaffirms NGD’s compliance and ongoing commitment to safeguarding the data of a wide and diverse range of customers, including major banks, retailers, government departments, IT service and cloud providers.

BS 10012: 2017 is a best practice framework for setting up a Personal Information Management System (PIMS) which facilitates compliance with data protection legislation.

In achieving this latest certification, NGD underwent an independent assessment including a thorough on-site audit covering all the requirements of BS 10012.

Commented Justin Jenkins, NGD’s managing director, “As a leading data centre services provider and home to global cloud hosting organisations, NGD is duty-bound to ensure the highest standards of data protection, privacy and security. The recent introduction of stringent GDPR legislation has made this an even more critical requirement.”

Over the years NGD has remained at the forefront of internationally recognised standards adoption for quality, environmental, security, health & safety and operational excellence.
